The NordVPN app requires iOS 16 or iPadOS 16 and later. On iPhone and iPad it installs only from the App Store, so you need an Apple ID.
Install
- Open the App Store and search for NordVPN.
- Tap the download button and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your Apple ID password.
- Open the app once the download finishes.
Log in
- Tap Log in and sign in with your Nord Account email and password. You can also log in with a code sent to your email.
- Tap Quick Connect.
- The first time, iOS asks to add VPN configurations: tap Allow and confirm with Face ID or your device passcode.
Kill Switch and protocols
- The iOS app has a built-in Kill Switch: if the VPN connection drops suddenly, internet access is blocked device-wide without closing your apps. See how it works.
- In the app settings you can change the protocol (NordLynx, OpenVPN UDP/TCP or IKEv2) if a connection is slow or won't connect.
If something doesn't work
- If the app won't install, check for an update in Settings → General → Software Update.
