The NordVPN app supports Android 9 and later. For Android 7 and 8, NordVPN provides a separate app that you sideload from its website.
Install
- Open your device's app store: Google Play on most phones and tablets, Galaxy Store on Samsung devices, or Amazon Appstore on Fire tablets.
- Search for NordVPN.
- Select the official app and tap Install.
Log in
- Open the app and tap Log in.
- Sign in with your Nord Account email and password.
- Tap Quick Connect. The first time, Android asks for permission to set up a VPN connection: tap OK.
Kill Switch on Android
On Android, Kill Switch works system-wide through the device's VPN settings:
- Open Settings → Network & internet → VPN (menu names vary by manufacturer).
- Tap the gear next to NordVPN.
- Turn on Always-on VPN and Block connections without VPN.
