Want to upload your website files? There are two ways: the Plesk File Manager in your browser, or an FTP program.

With File Manager (for a few files)

  1. Log in to Plesk.
  2. In Websites & Domains, click File Manager next to your domain.
  3. Open the httpdocs folder. Whatever is here appears on your website.
  4. Click the + or Upload button and select files from your computer.
  5. For many files, upload a .zip file and unpack it with Extract Files.

With FTP (for many or large files)

  1. In Plesk, under Websites & Domains, open FTP Access to view or create an FTP user.
  2. Install an FTP program, such as the free FileZilla.
  3. Enter the server (host), username and password as shown in Plesk.
  4. Prefer an FTPS connection (encrypted FTP) when available.
  5. Transfer your files into the httpdocs folder.

Tips

  • The home page must be named index.html or index.php.
  • Keep an eye on your plan's storage. See Which plan should I choose.
  • Before replacing files, keep a backup.
  • If you use WordPress, upload themes and plugins from the WordPress dashboard where possible.
