The ideal keyword for your website meets two requirements. The first requirement is interest. The keyword must be something people actually search for. If you look for a keyword that has 0 searches a month, it's not going to impact your business. So you need to find keywords that matter.

All keywords tools will bring you ideas of keywords based off of this initial list. This will be what you use to build an initial keyword pool.

Also, look at the search results pages where the keywords are, do they have a lot of competition? See if you can provide better content on those pages and then attack those searches. It's a blend of opportunity and what you can realistically achieve on your site.
